If you don’t yet qualify to start an undergraduate degree from a UK or US university, consider taking a preparation course. An undergraduate preparation course — also known as a pathway, foundation course or pre-bachelor’s — can help you prepare and qualify for entry to your degree.
These courses provide routes to excellent universities and undergraduate degrees for which you might not otherwise meet admission requirements. You can choose from a wide range of degree subjects and progression universities all over the UK and US.
International Year One
Average Cost: £12,350 to £21,960
If you’d like to study an undergraduate degree at a UK university, but don’t quite meet the entry requirements for your preferred choice, you should consider an International Year One (IYO). An IYO — a type of preparation course, or pre-bachelor’s — will allow you to reach the required level in time to start the 2nd year of a degree.
This undergraduate-level course will ease you into studying abroad, and combines academic preparation with the 1st year of a bachelor’s degree. This means that you can progress directly to your 2nd year of university undergraduate study in a range of subjects.
Pre-Master's Course
Average Cost: £13,230 to £28,980
If you want to earn a master’s degree from a UK or US university but don’t meet the entry requirements, a master’s preparation programme may be the right choice. A graduate preparation programme (also known as Pre-Master’s pathway) can help you prepare for and gain entry to a master’s degree.
These courses provide routes to excellent universities in the UK and USA that you might not otherwise qualify for entry to. You can choose from a number of degree subjects and universities in great UK and US locations, so you can start your path to degree and career success.
